keyboard mishaps, version 2.0

finally, finally--the periods are fixed. after a long week without my favorite kind of dot, the handy-dandy sony man came and replaced my keyboard with one that is far whiter--and less lacking in essential punctuation--than my old one. but, alas, all is not yet well with red's computer.

oh, no, no, no.

after getting back from a weekend with the girls in the countryside--also known as new jersey--i discovered the newest plague to affect my keyboard. perhaps you can guess so far. no, you say. ok, fine, i'll spill the news. the shift keys--the keys that trigger question marks, exclamation points, parentheses, and colons, not to mention capital letters--are the latest to fail.

ah, but the sony man insists--it must've been a glitch with the installation. someone will be there soon.

and eatmywords is on hold, once again, due to the unfavorable fortune bestowed by the punctuation gods.

Technology Failures... And Sigh.

Because technology hates me, I've been unable to post today. Though I've had the day off, something is amiss with my sneaky computer. In lieu of a normal post, here are a few sneak peaks for what I'll be posting about next week!

Remember that headboard? Well it's nearly done. Expect a full recap with instructions (and pictures!) sometime in the early week. And remember all the talk about the Moroccan lanterns? They're finally installed in my back yard and ready for tonight's housewarming party. Details on all the above are coming your way!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend... I'll be celebrating 4 years with TWB part 2 as he'll be in town, so if I get luckily swept away on some marvelous adventures, you'll be first in line to hear about it.

the price is right, but technology is not.

Having set apart my morning to do freelance work, I didn't expect to be posting until later this afternoon. But when technology rebels, it's a little hard to get work done. So while my online database gets reset, I'm here, watching Price is Right and reporting to you.

The latest on the job hunt, live from New York:
I'm meeting with a boutique restaurant PR company today that I worked with while serving as Food Editor of my school's paper. Apparently they're expanding the firm, so it's a semi-informational interview with possibilities around the corner. It's not a magazine job, nor is it editorial, but I'm keeping my mind open.
And after stumbling on a great guest blog on Design*Sponge this week, I decided to make some cold calls to editors at craft magazines, landing another informational on Friday. Not bad, eh?

Side note: it's so painful when people spin the wheel on Price is Right and hit the 100 on their second try! My heart goes out to you, contestant-whose-name-I-did-not-see.
